Mind

The mind is just like the muscles in your body. The more it is exercised it the better it works. As a student of Martial Arts we learned two very powerful yet pragmatic and useful things about Mind. The first is Mizo No Kokoro – Or in English “Mind like Water”. We endeavor to make our mind as a calm tranquil pond that reflects all around it with flawless perfection. A disturbed pond reflects in a distorted and confused manner. So the objective is to get your mind into a calm state before going through the lessons on this site.

/Another Mind analogy is Tsuki No Kokoro which in English is “Mind Like Moon”. The analogy is as the Moon Light reflects on all of the Earth it does so with its enveloping light shining on all the Earth with no emotion no endeavor. Blanketing all below its reflection with its light. In human terms it is observation complete without emotion.

This being said development of the Mind requires daily practice of concentration, observation, contemplation, memory and meditation. Each week there is a poem of wisdom. To memorize these each week will prove fruitful in building memory and concentration. To meditate on them is to open doors of knowledge and wisdom.
